What Spring time in the Mountains REALLY Means

For some it will eternally be scenes from the classic, ski movie 'Hot Dog'.  For others it's girls in bikinis and snow pants (so hot). That's kind of the 'thing' about Spring time in the mountains, there's A LOT to it!!

With no shortage of snow, the resorts at Lake Tahoe are enjoying a spring like they have not seen in almost 5 years!  That's enough of a reason to celebrate for us!  The area has been inundated with snow after a fairly dry February; over 5 feet of the 'white love from above' has fallen in the past 7 days!   With 4 resorts making up the bulk of Tahoe's ski terrain there should be plenty of snow and frolic to keep your spring hopping!!
Heavenly hosts weekend concerts and DJ sets form now until closing while bluegrass, a five week concert series and awesome pond skimming help usher in the slopes' closing at Squaw/Alpine.

Meanwhile Utah has its own Spring spectacular to tout!  Snow at the newly minted, largest resort in the US, Park City Mountain, has been phenomenal for its inaugural year!  One of the great benefits to Deer Valley, (the former) Canyons, and Park City Mountain (which now includes Canyons) is that there is a bona-fied city of almost 10,000 not far from their bases!  This means it's Spring-tacular in PC! Like many resorts, Park City Mountain has a concert series through March until April's closing date, and Spring Gruv which entails an awesome mid-mountain pond skim and HUGE concerts from well known, national and international acts!  Deer Valley and Park City Mountain also share the Thin Air Innovation Festival closing week of the season, a place for free thinkers to be inspired by nature for new solutions to age old business questions.  The finale of the festival is a concert by the world renowned Thievery Corporation!

Not to be left in the cold (wait, did I just say that?), Colorado has already started the spring fling, kicking it up a notch with the Burton US Open last week in Vail
Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail and Beaver Creek all have festivities and concerts galore from now until the end of April!
Crested Butte's closing day on April 3rd is preceded by pond skimming and a rail jam on the 2nd
and concludes operations with big ol' FAT par-teh at the base with Uptown Toodeloo String Band!
Aspen is one of the latest closing mountains in Colorado, not calling operations until April 17th and they are CHOCK FULL of events from now until then!!  Bud Light Spring Jam pulls on mountain competitions, concerts, and parties together, across four different resorts (Aspen, Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass) for almost a month of fun a frolic!!

Jackson Hole, celebrating its 50th winter in operation, is going all out for their closing weekend with, great sites all over the mountain, entertainment at the base, and plenty of apres.  Leading up to the closing weekend there will be weekly concerts, ski and snowmobile competitions and exciting events throughout the town of Jackson, and Teton Village.

Big Sky abounds with the song of springConcerts fill the calendar until closing day, April 17th.  Bluegrass, rock, classic rock, EDM and good old fashioned Jimmy Buffet Apres style tunes will keep your toes a tapping long after they are out of ski boots!

You really can't go wrong picking Ski for your Spring Break in 2016!!  Let our agents find the best resort to fulfill your snow-tastic dreams until the lifts stop turning!!
